This page explains what personal data MalaysianRecord collects and how it is used. Information about companies, brands and business leaders published on the site comes from public sources and company submissions; it is covered by the Research Methodology, Editorial Policy and Correction Policy, not this page. MalaysianRecord is published by Brandthirty Media.
What We Collect
- Form submissions โ when you use the contact, suggest-a-company, claim, correction or verification-enquiry forms we store the name, email, phone, company, city and message you provide, together with your IP address and the page you sent it from. This is kept as a private record for the editorial team.
- File attachments โ any document you attach to an enquiry is stored with that enquiry and seen only by the editorial team.
- Server logs โ standard web-server logs (IP address, request, user agent, timestamp) are generated for security and troubleshooting.
How We Use It
To answer your enquiry, to check and publish or update a record you asked us to, to process a claim or verification enquiry, to prevent abuse of the forms, and to keep the site running. We do not sell personal data and we do not use it for advertising.
Cookies and Analytics
The site sets only the cookies WordPress needs to function. It does not run third-party advertising or analytics cookies. Search-engine site verification is done with a page meta tag, not a cookie.
Sharing
We do not share personal data except with the service providers needed to run the site (for example hosting), or where we are required to by law.
Retention
Form submissions are kept while they are relevant to a live record or an open matter, then removed. Ask the editorial team to delete a submission that concerns you and we will, unless we are required to keep it.
Security
Submissions are stored as private records with access limited to the editorial team, and the site is served over HTTPS.
Your Rights
You can ask what personal data we hold about you, ask for a correction, or ask for deletion, by contacting the editorial team. Do not send unnecessary sensitive personal information through the forms.
Contact
Privacy questions go to the editorial team.
